Following Oslo, the University of Málaga is very pleased to host the next joint congress of the European Economic Association and the Econometric Society European meeting (EEA-ESEM) in Málaga (Andalusia, Spain) from 27-31, August 2012 (http://www.eea-esem2012malaga.org).

Málaga University (UMA) is a public institution which promotes outstanding research and teaching within the European Higher Education Area. With a university community of just over 40,000 people, its vigor and growth over recent years have led to it becoming a reference point for universities in Spain.

The Department of Economics has an academic staff of 30 including research fellows and visitors. The Department offers programs on all levels, from bachelor through PhD, with a total number of students around 1500.

The city of Málaga, the capital of The Costa del Sol and one of the top international destinations, is in an exceptional natural setting, with a coastline bathed by the Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by the Malaga Mountains, designated a Nature Reserve. Large handsome squares and gardens, monuments in a range of artistic styles, and traces of the presence of the Roman and Muslim civilizations appear before your eyes as you stroll through the city centre or walk along the seafront promenade enjoying the sea breeze, or marvel at everything Malaga has to offer from the top of a sightseeing bus.

The conference will be held at the Teatinos Campus of the University of Málaga, in the Higher Technical Schools of Telecommunications and Computer Engineering. The 2012 EEA-ESEM joint meeting (http://www.eea-esem2012malaga.org/) will feature the work and findings of the leading scholars in economics, econometrics and related fields, and will provide an excellent opportunity to present your own research results, additionally, several social events will be offered.

We look forward to meeting you in Málaga!
