Location of Job opening

The University of Southern Denmark, Department of Environmental and Business Economics, invites applications for a 1½-year position as Postdoc in resource and energy economics.

The Department of Environmental and Business Economics is part of the Faculty of Social Science and is located in Esbjerg. Research in the Department is organized in four research groups, and the announced position will be part of the Environmental and Resource Economics group (ERM). In January 2011 the ERM group was awarded a grant to build an elite unit.  More information about the research group can be found at http://www.sdu.dk/ime.

We seek candidates with empirical research interests in resource economics, renewable (green) energy, industrial support design and policy reforms (macro and micro). While the research group mainly consists of economists, the research is often placed in a multidisciplinary academic and international environment.

It is expected that the successful candidate will apply quantitative approaches to assess production and infrastructure technologies that can deliver cost reductions of green energy, and do risk analysis and simulations for green economic growth models with uncertainty.
We appreciate a special interest in the analysis and quantitative empirical modeling within, but not confined to, electricity economics and offshore wind energy from the North Sea.

We welcome applications from candidates with a recently or nearly completed PhD degree in environmental and resource economics, econometrics, economic growth. In more detail for the position:

-2-page outline of proposed research,
-PhD transcripts (nearly completed PhDs can also apply),
-Research achievements (journal articles, working papers)
-Names of three academic referees

The Department provides a competitive salary, modern facilities for research and teaching as well as resources for research assistants and for travel and conference participation.
