CSIRO seeks a motivated economist to join its Social and Economic Sciences Research Program to design, conduct and publish original and innovative research on biosecurity issues and risk analysis. The position is a leadership role in a growing team of social and economic scientists working in this area under the auspices of CSIRO's new Biosecurity Research Flagship.

Specific duties will include:
• Conceive, design, conduct and deliver cutting edge economics research addressing biosecurity issues, leading to effective outcomes in biosecurity policy and management
• Publish high quality scientific publications, through peer reviewed journals, book chapters and presenting material at conferences and workshops
• Contributions to and interactions with international scholarly communities in research economics, biosecurity and environmental management
Location: Canberra, Australia

Salary: AU$99K-$132K + up to 15.4% superannuation (pension fund)

To be successful you will have:
• A PhD in a relevant field of economics
• Experience in the application of economic theories and analytic methods pertinent to biosecurity, preferably in the context of cross-disciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated track record in research design, management and delivery, including publication in the peer-reviewed literature.
