The Institute for Future Energy Consumer Needs and Behavior (FCN) currently has vacant positions for two junior and one senior researcher/s in energy economics. The institute specializes in applied theoretical and empirical research in energy economics and policy, with a particular focus on consumer needs and behavior and the adoption and diffusion of innovative technology. The Chair is affiliated to both the AACSB-accredited School of Business and Economics and the interdisciplinary E.ON Energy Research Center at RWTH Aachen University.
Prerequisite for a successful application is a degree in economics or a related field. A good knowledge in microeconomics and applied/empirical economic research, and experience with data handling, econometrics or programming is essential. On the personal skills level we expect a high level of motivation, capacity for teamwork, interest in interdisciplinary research, above-average analytical skills, creativity, and a very good command of the English language.
Successful candidates will be involved in the institute’s research projects and teaching activities. Additional career advancement (e.g. PhD degree, habilitation) is explicitly welcomed and supported.
We offer intensive counseling/supervision, work of practical relevance in a young and international research. The candidate will be hired as a regular employee. The position is part-time (75% of the standard weekly hours for full-time employees) and to be filled as soon as possible and is initially for three years. Salary is according to TV-L 13.
