Your Work area

 

You will work in the Regional Economics Group that specializes in  quantitative policy assessment at regional, national and European levels in the areas of energy, environment, climate change and regional development. We use input-output analysis, Partial and General Equilibrium, agent-based models, network equilibrium models and industrial organisation models as our major policy assessment tools.  

 

As a researcher you will focus on high-profile projects for important policy-makers such as the European Commission, the World Bank and various Dutch Ministries. You will play an important role in economic policy research with a focus on development and use of economic simulation models. You will translate the model results into well-written reports accessible to policy makers. You will also take part in the acquisition of projects through proposal writing. You can apply your knowledge, passion and competencies on topics that are visible and really matter in this challenging position.

 

Your Qualities

 

You have a PhD or Masters degree in Quantitative Economics and preferably experience with data work and modelling. You have good mathematical and programming skills. You are familiar with statistical and modelling software such as GAMS, MATLAB, EVIEWS and STATA. You have good communication skills, independent and resourceful. You are creative, good team-player and able to work on different projects at the same time. You also need excellent (English) writing and presentation skills to be successful in this job.
