Utrecht University School of Economics (USE) is part of the Law, Economics and Governance Faculty of Utrecht University, one of the world’s most reputable research universities. USE endeavours world-standard teaching and research while encouraging multidisciplinary economic approaches. It gives special attention to the institutional, historical and spatial dimensions of economics. USE collaborates actively with the faculties of Science, Geo Sciences, Social Sciences and History and the departments of Law and Governance. USE is active internationally and teaches its curricula in Dutch and English.

 

Currently, we are looking for a full-time

 Professor of Quantitative Economics, in particular Econometrics

 Candidates are expected to have broad knowledge in the field of econometrics and a relevant doctorate degree. Also, candidates should have an excellent research record, demonstrated by publications in international (top tier) journals, and proven acquisition power. Obviously, candidates have a strong drive to further develop teaching and research in quantitative methods and econometrics with a multidisciplinary economics perspective .

 

Candidates should be interested in and have experience with applied research in multidisciplinary economics and have the ambition to create synergy within USE’s research programs: “The Multidisciplinary Economics of Firms, Sectors and Markets” and “The Multidisciplinary Economics of the Welfare State”. The former focuses typically on issues like market entry and exit, competition, cooperation and regulation, mergers and acquisitions, internationalisation, changes in firm and sector structures and the evolution of networks. The latter focuses on key elements of the welfare state such as ageing, health care, income distribution, distribution of decision-making powers, and labour market and social security arrangements.

 

We invite both senior professors and young talents to apply. Depending on current track record and performance, we offer either a tenured position or a five year tenure-track position in a stimulating and ambitious working environment. The salary for a full time appointment is min. € 4.904,00 and max. € 8.622,00 gross per month. Good secondary benefits.
